I worked in partnership with RNOH to recruit their substantive Finance Director, working closely with their Chief Executive at the time, Rob Hurd (now Chief Executive of North West London Integrated Care Board) and with Ann Johnson of NHSEI.
I presented a long list with 50% BAME representation to the RNOH team, from a shortlist of 5 candidates all at band 9 level, 3 were invited to final stage assessment.
Prior to the final stage, each candidate enjoyed a site visit and informal discussions with 2 executive directors which I coordinated with the team at RNOH.
The final assessment day included a stakeholder engagement session which I also attended as well as a panel interview. The panel found there were 2 appointable candidates and offered Caroline Owusu-Bennoah, first black female Finance Director in a London Trust.
Below is a testimonial from Rob Hurd, Former Chief Executive, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust:
Nicola sourced an excellent long list of talented and relevant candidates, reflecting breadth across gender and ethnic diversity. Candidates were well briefed and “bought-in” to the values and aims of RNOH and we were delighted to appoint successfully from a strong and impressive short list. There are many search firms in this field but Nicola truly stood out from the crowd by shaping a bespoke and tailored service around us as well as bringing both a personal touch and the professionalism of many years recruiting into the NHS.
Our 20+ years of experience gives us the insight, Knowledge and networks to serve our clients on a strategic level.
